San Juan Islands · Washington
Day boats from a working harbor. No sunset package. No champagne ritual. Just a hull, a chart, and the day.
The company
We keep a small yard in Friday Harbor and send people into the San Juans the way locals go: early, with a paper chart, and no itinerary that needs a toast.
The water here is cold and close. Islands sit near enough that a single day is a real voyage. You pick a boat. We handle fuel, lines, and whether the weather is lying.
The yard
Small enough to nose into a quiet rockpile. Big enough for a cooler and the people you actually like.
Open 22-foot runabout. Six people, a cooler, and any cove you can see from the breakwater.
Classic cabin. A dry wheelhouse when the weather turns. The boat we take our own families on.
More deck, more people, still short enough to tuck behind a point when the fetch builds.
Leave at four. Come home when the nav lights look better than the bars on Spring Street.
On the water
Meet at the visitor dock. We walk the boat with you: fuel, radio, where the crab pots sit. Lines off by eight if you want the water to yourself.
Reid Harbor. Prevost. A nameless notch on Lopez. Eat on the engine box. Swim if you are braver than the water.
Back before dark, or later if you took Afterglow. We take the lines. You keep the day.
Yard rules
A local day is included. If you want to stretch for Sucia, we top you up and settle the difference.
Two hundred eighty more. Required if no one aboard can handle current, ferry wake, and a 22 to 28 foot boat.
Paper chart, working radio, PFDs that fit. July still lies up here. Bring lunch. We do not stock a bar.
If the strait is ugly we say so the night before and move you. Forty-eight hours for a change of mind.
Harbor copy
We answer the same afternoon. If the weather is a bad idea, we will tell you before we take your date.
We have your date. Someone from the dock will write you this afternoon.
